We place between 400 and 500 of these gentle greyhounds are 45 MPH couch potatoes creatures into wonderful homes each year. A small dedicated staff and lots of hard working volunteers have made AAGI the successful program it is today. AAGI works directly with local kennels who know each greyhound individually. We believe there is a home for every dachshund we foster. Some just take a little longer to find. Most dachshunds spend at least a short time in foster care so we can evaluate their behaviors in a home setting. We can give potential adopters information on how the dachshund may interact with cats, children, men, women, other dogs, and so on. These are vital components to a good match. We also try to improve potty training skills if they are not already house trained. Our foster homes provide good nutrition and an understanding lap to prepare our dachshunds for life in a world where fear and starvation are non-existent.

Description: Friends for Life Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to the homeless and stray animals living on the streets and in the deserts. These animals do not have an advocate and will likely suffer starvation, illness, or injury as they try to survive alone. Animals that are in the pound will not reproduce and are therefore not perpetuating an overpopulated animal community. Animals on the street are reproducing and creating even more unwanted animals. Friends for Life prefer to get to the source of the problem through spaying and neutering.
